Local History Resources

Tavistock Museum wished to make the information from their display panels more widely available to local schools and researchers.

Museum and local history society volunteers had undertaken much work to research their topics, locating seldom-seen documents and photographs, which had resulted in a unique body of material providing a wealth of local historical information.

To make this more widely available - particularly in local schools, the Museum asked Graphic Words to design an interactive CD.

From the display panels, users can retrieve text and individual photographs, documents and maps, while for classroom whiteboard use, full size versions of the panels were included as teaching aids.

The CD was distributed to local schools through the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council South West, and also made available for sale at Tavistock Museum.
